Lloyd Banks, the ex-G-Unit member, is generating attention with his unique strategy for unveiling his upcoming mixtape, “Cold Corner 3.” In a recent revelation, Banks stated that he intends to ask fans for a hefty $100 in exchange for access to his forthcoming project.

During an interaction with fans on Twitter (X), Banks addressed the topic, stating, “It’s all good, CC3 won’t be on streaming sites, only available thru me for $100 then we’ll see if they back the talking up.” This decision has garnered attention and stirred significant excitement within the hip-hop community.

This pricing strategy is reminiscent of the late Nipsey Hussle, who famously charged fans $100 for his “Crenshaw” mixtape a decade ago. Nipsey’s bold move proved to be highly profitable as he managed to sell all 1,000 physical copies in less than 24 hours at a pop-up store in his hometown of LA. Even hip-hop mogul Jay-Z was impressed, purchasing 100 copies himself.

Nipsey’s “Proud to Pay” campaign was born from this approach, rewarding his most devoted supporters with exclusive perks like concert access, priority access to new material, and unique gifts, such as old rap notebooks or signed photos.

Two years later, Nipsey took it up a notch by selling 100 copies of his 2015 mixtape, “Mailbox Money,” for a whopping $1,000 each. Shortly after its release, he announced that he had successfully sold 60 units, totaling $60,000 in revenue.

The rapper is now looking to capitalize on his dedicated fan base, who have shown immense patience and loyalty in recent years. As the release date for “Cold Corner 3” approaches, the question remains: will Banks’ pricing strategy yield similar success, or will fans be willing to pay $100 for his latest mixtape?

Lloyd Banks’ choice to price his latest mixtape, CC3, at $100 has sparked conversations and captured the attention of the hip-hop community. The outcome of this unconventional strategy will be closely watched in the weeks ahead.

Halloween Havoc IV: The 72nd Hour

On Tuesday, October 31, Lloyd Banks dropped his highly anticipated mixtape, “Halloween Havoc IV: The 72nd Hour.” This release comprises 15 songs and showcases the work of some of Banks’ closest collaborators, including George Gentson, Cartune Beatz, Haas Almadhi, and Mr. Authentic, among others.

One notable aspect of the mixtape is its limited guest features, with only two artists making appearances. Fellow New Yorker Vado and Sy Ari da Kid, who now resides in Atlanta, bring their unique styles to the project.

Banks first introduced his Halloween Havoc series in 2008, and after a substantial gap, parts two and three were released in 2015 and 2016, respectively. This latest installment follows Banks’ triumphant return to the music scene in 2021 with his fourth studio album, “The Course of the Inevitable.” The success of this release prompted him to continue the series with “The Course of the Inevitable 2” last year and “The Course of the Inevitable 3” in May.

Lloyd Banks’ recent prolific output has clearly bolstered his self-confidence. He recently declared himself to be the best rapper alive, a claim that has ignited discussions and debates among hip-hop enthusiasts. With his impressive body of work and unique approach to releasing music, Banks is undeniably a prominent figure in the rap scene.
