Fans of the iconic MTV show “Pimp My Ride” may have reason to get excited, as Alvin Joiner known as Xzibit has dropped a major hint suggesting the show could be making a comeback.

Taking to Instagram on May 1, Xzibit shared a post that has sparked speculation among fans. The post features a snapshot of a classic car adorned with Xzibit’s name emblazoned on the hood. Beneath the image, a message reads, “It’s time to get back to customizing rides,” accompanied by the date May 9, 2024.

Adding to the intrigue, Xzibit’s caption simply echoes the same date, leaving fans buzzing with anticipation.

For those unfamiliar, “Pimp My Ride” was a groundbreaking reality show that aired on MTV from 2004 to 2007. Hosted by Xzibit himself, the series followed a simple yet wildly entertaining premise: taking beat-up, worn-out vehicles and transforming them into jaw-dropping, customized masterpieces.

Each episode showcased a lucky individual whose car was in desperate need of a makeover. From installing state-of-the-art sound systems to adding luxurious interiors and eye-catching paint jobs, the transformations were nothing short of extraordinary.

Pimp My Ride” swiftly became a cultural phenomenon, enchanting audiences with its blend of automotive expertise, creativity, and feel-good vibes. Viewers eagerly tuned in week after week to witness the magic unfold as ordinary cars were transformed into extraordinary works of art on wheels.

Before becoming the host of “Pimp My Ride,” Xzibit made a name for himself in the music industry as a rapper. His first album was released in 1996, and he has since released a total of seven studio albums, showcasing his versatility as an artist.

While “Pimp My Ride” was on air, it blew up big time, making Xzibit even more famous. Once the show wrapped in 2007, Xzibit didn’t slow down. He popped up on other TV hits like “The Boondocks” and “Hawaii Five-0.” Plus, he dipped his toes into acting, snagging a role as Shyne Johnson on “Empire.”

Currently, Xzibit is gearing up for the release of his highly-anticipated eighth solo album, “King Maker.” Taking to social media, he has been sharing updates about the album’s progress, including selfies with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, showcasing their enduring friendship.

In a recent Instagram post, Xzibit revealed that his upcoming album will feature a collaboration with Pomona, California legend Suga Free, adding to the anticipation surrounding “King Maker.”

During an interview last year, Xzibit expressed his excitement about the album, stating that it represents some of his best work yet. With the songs written, recorded, and selected, “King Maker” is now ready to be released.

Two weeks ago Xzibit shared a post with the caption: “it’s time….KINGMAKER IS DONE, can’t wait to drop this for you.”

While the exact release date for “King Maker” has not been specified, fans can rest assured that Xzibit is gearing up to deliver another hit album. And with rumors swirling about the return of “Pimp My Ride,” it looks like Xzibit is ready to reclaim his throne as the king of custom rides. Stay tuned for more updates on both fronts!
