Battle Rapper “Pat Stay” Stabbed And Killed At Age 36

Canadian rapper Pat Stay, a prominent battle rapper from Nova Scotia, was fatally stabbed early Sunday morning (Sept.4th) in downtown Halifax. His brother confirmed the rapper's death to CBC.

Police responded to a report of someone with a weapon in the 1600 block of Lower Water Street around 12:36 A.M. on early Sunday. Upon their arrival they found Stay lying unconscious with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to a local hospital, where he passed away at the age of 36.

The representative Const. MacLeod of the Halifax Regional Police, who was at the scene and spoke to reporters about what happened, could not provide details on how or why died from multiple stab wounds.

Investigations are currently underway and no arrests have been made yet.

No arrests have been made at this time but police are asking anyone who may have information about the to come forward with any tips they might have so they can help solve this case and bring justice for Pat's family 902-490-5020.

Pat Stay has found great success in the battle rap world, becoming a King of the Dot Champion. Some of these most notable battles have come against rappers like Arsonal Da Rebel and Daylyt—two well-known names within their field.

Many artists, including (a major figure in the battle rap scene), have posted on social media to express their condolences over Stay's death.

Arsonal Da Rebel wrote on his Instagram page: “The amount of RESPECT I HAD FOR THIS MAN IS CRAZY… I CANT BELIEVE I WOKE UP THIS MORNING TO A CALL SAYING THE SUCCA FREE BOSS IS GONE…. MY DEEPEST CONDOLENCES AND STRONGEST PRAYERS GO OUT TO YA WHOLE FAMILY LEGEND….. GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN.”

In a second post, Da Rebel shared the following message: “DAM BRO JUST POSTED THIS 2 DAYS AGO.”

The legendary controversial rapper tweeted: 1 day prior I said to u, Some energies u should leave alone. We are in spooky times. Those people play different at that level. U replied: U right Day And I wake up to seeing u gone! Man this tuff… Rip pat! Your name is stamped on earth.”

On August 12 The Game's “Black Slim Shady” targeting Eminem was not well received by fans or critics—for its lack of originality and poor delivery.

In response to Game's diss track, the battle rapper released his own song titled “Warm up,” in which he challenged .

The battle rap legend shared his diss track on his Instagram page: “Pat Stay feat. Kaleb Simmonds – “Warm up”

“I've had this in the chamber for a good minute now ready to fire if Game got brave. Clearly he don't want smoke. But this goes too hard to keep from yall so here it is. Tag  AND EVERY OTHER RAPPER AND MEDIA OUTLET YOU WANT!”

“Oh, and Game (cant tag you since you blocked me lol)……I stepped into your world so wassup? It's all love for the sport, right?!? Let's see if you're really bout this rap shIt.”

In a recent Tweet, Eminem himself expressed his admiration for Pat Stay by writing:

is deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Pat Stay. We send our condolences to his family and friends in this time of grief.
