After more than a year since dropping his latest single, Tekashi 6ix9ine made his announcement via social media earlier this week while mentioning he would be releasing new music Friday. “
In a recent post, Tekashi 6ix9ine revealed on Instagram that he will release new music on Friday, April 15.
The Brooklyn rapper teased his return to the music industry in a very creepy short clip. The rapper can be seen in some sort of horror room in the arms of an elderly woman whispering to him, “You haven’t been yourself. Don’t be afraid.” followed by the release date, “April 15” and written “Witness The Return.”
6ix9ine wrote: “I hope everybody enjoyed there 15 minutes. THE DEMON IS BACK APRIL 15TH. I’m THE BEAST they couldn’t contain. The industry most hated animal. APRIL 15th the KING OF NEW YORK IS COMING BACK. I’m going back home AYOOOOOOO GINÈ GINÈ DONT GET CAUGHT ON REPLAY ‼️‼️”
Not only did Tekashi post a clip but he also shared an Instagram story.
6ix9ine wrote: “When I left and took a break I didn’t say a word to NO ONE. I didn’t need to explain nothing. I JUST DID IT. I woke up and now I want to take over again. NOW GET OUT OF MY WAY. THE KING OF NEW YORK IS BACK.”
This news comes as a surprise to many people who thought the former Soundcloud king was done with music. A lot of people thought he was making so much money that he didn’t need to make music anymore. However, in March 2022, 6ix9ine stated that he was broke and had made little to no money since his successful return two years earlier. 6ix9ine’s court documents indicated that he is bankrupt, with just enough money to get by.
In answer to the case, 6ix9ine indicated in his plea that he was having financial difficulties and that his earnings had dried up since his reappearance in 2020.
The Gooba rapper said in addition that his record agreement with 10,000 projects, as well as a merchandise arrangement, had come to an end.
During a conversation at The Clubhouse on March 14, the 6ix9ine manager ‘Wack100’ joked that the rapper is bleeding money and that his barely generated enough funds to pay for gas, adding that he jumped in and helped fill up the rapper’s car. “Yeah, he broke as a muthafucka, That n***a 6ix9ine ain’t got nothin’! I had to send him $20 for some gas:” he said.
Following 6ix9ine release from prison, he became more popular as a result of the enormous amount of views his music videos received, which boosted his streaming figures.
Tekashi’s viewership and actual sales fell with each new video, indicating that people were watching out of curiosity rather than because they were interested in the rapper’s music.
Gooba and Trollz, 6ix9ine’s first two songs, were huge hits, but Yaya and Punani, his follow-up singles, were not nearly as popular.
By the time it was released in September 2020, Tekashi’s album TattleTales had just 53,000 copies sold on Billboard’s Hot 200.
The controversial rapper’s net worth is reported to be $8 million, but considering that he hasn’t toured in years and hasn’t produced any music since 2020, it’s possible that figure has decreased.
Considering that NBA Youngboy is one of the most popular artists among the youngsters, 6ix9ine had previously reached out to him for a collaboration.
NBA Youngboy has previously openly stated that he had nothing against Tekashi and that he rather do a song with him “than half these other rappers.”
As fans await Tekashi’s return, many wonder if NBA Youngboy will team up with him. In that case, the collaboration could give him a big boost and maybe help him out of his financial bind.
