A 33-year-old man was SHOT DEAD and a 32-year-old was wounded in Marseille on Monday night. French media say they were FILMING A RAP CLIP when it happened, but police say they can’t confirm that yet. No rapper has been named.

Gunfire Near the Calanques, One Man Gone

It went down around 9:20 PM near the La Cayolle housing project in the 9th district, right next to the Calanques park. Firefighters found the 33-year-old in cardiac arrest and couldn’t bring him back. The 32-year-old was found nearby with gunshot wounds, and the shooters ran.

The outlets don’t agree on how bad it is for him. La Provence says seriously hurt, France 3 says lightly. Same gunfire, different bulletins.

The Rap Clip Part Is Still a Maybe

La Provence reports the two men were shooting a clip when armed men targeted them. A police source said a shoot was planned that day, but NOBODY KNOWS IF IT HAPPENED DURING THE FILMING OR AFTER, or if the two are even connected. Cop language for “we know about as much as you do.”

A clip shoot is supposed to be the part where the guns are fake. Video shoots going wrong is not new, like when Rob49 got shot during French Montana’s video shoot.

No Motive, No Names, No Arrests

  • CONFIRMED: one dead, one wounded, Monday night in La Cayolle.
  • NOT CONFIRMED: that it happened during the clip shoot.
  • NOT CONFIRMED: motive, drug beef or private dispute.
  • NOT CONFIRMED: who shot, how many, any arrests, or who the victims are.

La Cayolle used to be a big drug spot and still has a rough name, but nothing says that’s what this is. It comes a week after a 21-year-old was killed in a Kalashnikov attack in Marseille’s Air Bel. Nobody has named the song or the label either, so for now this is a clip with no credits.
