YG Briefly Detained in Drakeo Case, Breaks Silence Same Day

Update: YG hopped on IG Stories with a “RED ALERT” and “SAY IT AIN’T SO” pointing the finger at Drake, claiming he’s bankrolling propaganda to tie him to Drakeo the Ruler’s murder, all sparked by Glasses Malone’s livestream allegations. Screenshots are running laps around X courtesy of Kurrco, AkademiksTV and HZN RAP, but there’s zero proof Drake funded anything and no FBI is actually involved, the July raid on YG’s Burbank spot was CHP and local police, not the feds. Still no charges filed against YG, this is just accusations flying while the real investigation grinds on.
SWAT Rolled Up To YG's Building Over Drakeo's Murder Case
So earlier this week, cops straight up ran up on a Burbank building tied to YG. We talkin CHP and Burbank SWAT with an actual search warrant. This wasn’t random either. According to TMZ, this all connects back to the 2021 murder of Drakeo the Ruler, a case that’s been ice cold with zero answers for years.
They held YG for a bit during the search. NO CHARGES. NO ARREST. He walked out the same day like nothing happened. If you seen headlines screaming he got arrested, that’s just wrong, per NBC LA. Dude got detained, questioned, released. That’s it.
YG Breaks His Silence Same Day Cops Let Him Go
Hours after CHP and Burbank SWAT rolled up on him, YG popped up in a clip from Apple Music and Verzuz talking about the whole thing like it was a speed bump. In the video, YG addresses the detention and plays it cool, basically shrugging it off like getting swarmed by cops over a murder investigation is just Tuesday. NO CHARGES. NO ARREST. JUST A FEW HOURS OF INCONVENIENCE. And get this, dude still showed up and battled The Game in Verzuz that same night like nothing happened. Say what you want about YG but the man does not let a search warrant mess up his schedule. So Yeah, Nobody Got Locked Up Today
LET’S BE CLEAR: NO NEW CHARGES CAME OUT OF THIS. YG got popped up for a quick detain, then walked right back out. No cuffs stuck, no court date, nothing. Just a search warrant that led nowhere new.
Fans already know YG and the drama around Drakeo goes way back before this. There was real beef between them for years. But beef ain’t a conviction, and cops have never charged YG with anything connected to the actual murder.
THE DRAKEO CASE IS STILL COLD. Same as it’s been since 2021. No arrests, no answers, just another headline that sounds bigger than it actually is. Cool story, still unsolved.
