The first two episodes of Jeen-Yuhs are now available on Netflix. All three episodes of Jeen-Yuhs will keep you glued to the screen for nearly 4 hours.
The Kanye Trilogy is a 20-year documentary about Kanye West from his beginnings as a producer-turned-rapper to his ventures into the fashion industry and his later years.
In the three-part documentary series, Kanye West discusses his mental health, marriage to Kim Kardashian, support for Donald Trump, and his announcement that he will run for President of the United States in 2020.
Each episode lasts about 80 minutes and is divided into three sections:
Netflix will release each episode of the Jeen-Yuhs trilogy at 3 a.m. ET around the world.
Before the release of the third episode of “Awakening,” a video from the set of a Kanye West music video that was unexpectedly shut down has leaked online. (Watch video below)
On Monday, February 28 Time magazine shared on their Youtube channel a never before seen footage from the music video shoot of Twista’s 2004 song “Overnight Celebrity,” which featured a young Kanye.
Director Coodie Simmons recorded hundreds of hours of video of Kanye West over the course of two decades for the three-part Kanye West documentary.
“Coodie Simmons, a director of the Netflix documentary “jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy”, talks bout how no one in the music industry knew how talented young Ye really was”
Because of Simmons’ careful attitude, he left a lot of videos on the editing room floor, including this clip, which TIME has obtained as an exclusive.
The scene is set during the 2004 video shoot for “Slow Jamz.” West had just had his first major solo success with the track “Through the Wire,” which described the aftermath of his near-fatal vehicle accident and was climbing the charts both in the United States and internationally at the time. While he wanted to repeat the song’s and video’s success (directed by West, Simmons, and Chike Ozah), the “Slow Jamz” shoot was significantly more difficult, beset by artistic disputes, logistical problems, and financial issues.
Kanye West appears to have a lot of issues with members of the music video production team in the leaked film, who all seem to ignore him.
