Look at Me (2022 film)

Directed by Sabaah Folayan and produced by FADER Films, XXX’s documentary “Look at me” storyline portrays the rapper’s progression from a SoundCloud rapper to one of the world’s most-streamed artists. The documentary “Look at me!” will provide true stories about XXX’s family, friends, and personal acquaintances including never-before-seen footage and new unheard music such as “News/Flock” and others.

According to the description, filmmaker Sabaah Folayan “offers a sensitive portrayal of an artist whose acts of violence, raw musical talent, and open struggles with mental health left an indelible mark on his generation before his death at the age of 20.”

XXXTentacion Shot Dead at 20

On June 18, 2018, XXXTENTACION, real name Jaseh Dwayne Onfroy, was robbed and shot dead in broad daylight after leaving Riva’s MotorSports in Pompano Beach, Florida.

According to a statement provided by the Sheriff’s Department, XXX was approached by two armed individuals as he exited the dealership. According to reports, at least one of the suspects fired their weapon, hitting XXX. Investigators assume the incident was the result of a robbery. The robbers left with a Louis Vuitton bag holding $50,000 in cash. The 20 years old rapper was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead just over an hour later.

XXXTentacion Conflicts

The young rapper who had a history of arrests was frequently chastised for his bad behavior and was facing 15 federal charges at the time of his death.

XXX’s legal troubles began in 2012 when he was only 14 years old. During that year, he was arrested twice: first for possessing weed and for breaking into a residence and stealing a laptop to record music on.

At the age of 16, XXX was sentenced to a year in a youth correctional institution for gun possession.

In July 2016, only days after being released on bond for stabbing his former manager, XXX was arrested again for theft, assault with a dangerous weapon, and armed robbery in connection with an incident in November 2015.

The Florida rapper was released on bail in September, only to be arrested again the following month on charges of false imprisonment, witness tampering, and aggravated assault against a pregnant victim who later turned out to be his ex-girlfriend, Geneve Ayala.

XXX pled not guilty to the allegations and was freed on house arrest on December 20, 2017.

On March 21, 2018, he was freed from house imprisonment after a court granted his plea to go on tour.

The young artist was shot dead months later, and all allegations against him were ultimately dismissed.

There is no doubt that XXX struggled throughout his 20 years in this world.
The Florida rapper dealt with mental health issues on a daily basis, and he was failed in some of the systemic ways that America fails so many young kids.  There is no question that X music had a good impact on the lives of many individuals, particularly teenagers who identified with the rapper.
