The best thing about “24’s” is its hook, and DA-MOVEMENT knows it.

Johnny P’s vocal sits at the center of this track and does not move. His delivery carries the weight of classic Westside Chicago R&B, the kind that does not get produced in a session, it gets inherited. You hear it once and you are already in the second listen before the first one finishes.

Never of Crucial Conflict closes the record with a rapid-fire verse that is the clearest argument for adding this to rotation. Pure Westside street energy, tight delivery, every bar doing work. A guest verse is supposed to elevate. This one does.

The production is built on a foundational track by the late Chicago architect Jason Pamon. Rae Nimeh brought a new stereo mix for 2026, and two-time Grammy-winning mastering engineer Mike Tucci finished it with a Dolby Atmos spatial master. It lands with clarity and punch without losing its street character.

The outro runs long. The hook loops past where it should have stopped, and the track loses its footing on the landing. It is the one structural call that costs the record.

Still, the strength of what precedes it holds up.

“From gutter to the butter it’s back on. Still raw with the cut, bring it back home. Chi-Town, my kind of town.”

DA-MOVEMENT has been documented in Chicago hip-hop since 2009, with coverage from Earmilk, Ninja Hits Magazine, and Urban Barz. “24’s” is out now on all platforms.
