Empire Record Label Welcomes Jay Critch To The Family

Empire‘s CEO and founder Ghazi Shami recently announced that Jay Critch has been added to the company’s expanding portfolio.

The company has been involved in the careers of some of today’s biggest names in including Yung Blue, Kendrick Lamar, and many more.

On July 19, Empire tweeted its excitement at having join the family. “We’re excited to welcome the Hood Favorite Jay Critch to the EMPIRE family.”

The 24-year-old artist made the announcement on his Instagram page, where he posted a photo of himself signing the contract with Empire founder Ghazi Shami.

In the caption, Critch wrote: “Independent and out that deal. Hood fav took my talents to the Bay like @jordan_poole. Shoutout to @ghazi @empire. Let’s get buckets. Comment if you ready for Jugg Season.”

Rapper Jay Critch, who was born in Brooklyn, is best known for his popular songs ‘Cameras’ and ‘Ego’ as well as his collaborations with Lil Tjay, , and Harry Fraud.

In 2015, Critch major’s first collaboration was with on “Man Down.”

The Brooklyn-based artist—real name Jason Cole Critchlow—has been making waves in hip-hop since 2016, when he first joined the Rich Forever Music label, which is owned by rapper Rich The Kid.

Since his first deal with Rich Forever Music in late 2016, Critch has appeared on the label albums The Rich Forever Way, Rich Forever 3, and the Rich Forever 4.

Last year in January 2021, Critch left the “Rich Forever Music” label and called out Rich on social media, accusing him of unfulfilled promises.

When leaving the label Critch shared a series of posts on Instagram saying: “Some of these rap n*** is just like the lawyers at the labels don’t trust them. If y’all want new music go tell them FREE CRITCH.”

Following his previous post, he said: “Stop lettin these n**** cap about owning masters n shit. They tryna hold n**** in bum ass deals. N**** be ya ‘brother’ until the business come up then it’s all this lawyer talk contract talk. Not real n shit.”

“I am not rich forever. That shit been a dub”: he continued.

The Brooklyn-based rapper who left his previous label in 2021, has finally signed a new deal with Empire.

With this new deal, we hope that Critch will be able to fulfill his potential and continue making great music for us to enjoy.
