Rapper From Detroit “Corey Diamond” release his album “For Better or Worse 2”
Written by dilemaradio on November 4, 2017
Corey Diamond grew up on the Eastside of Detroit, MI. After years of having one arm in the church and the other pulled by the streets, he was encouraged by his mother to get away from the street life and obtain his GED at age 18. After graduating, He started taking classes at a community college while working full time and rapping “on the side” – building his identity as a sharp MC under the alias “CocoFuego.”
Seven years later, after three mix tapes and three college degrees, two from the University of Michigan (BA, MS), he is finally ready to inspire other kids to escape the “trap” and reach their full potentials. His lyrics range from “gospel rap,” to conscious bars, to all around dance anthems.
Inspired by an old school flow (Tupac, Run DMC) and some new school giants (Lecrae, Drake, Kendrick Lamar), He hopes to bring more positivity and lyricism to hip hop, while still respecting the growth of the culture.
He is an independent artist and engineers all of his own music. He has chosen not to sign with a label because he enjoys having full creative rights, however, he may want to branch out soon to reach a wider audience with his message.
There is no telling what you will get from “Cocofuego,” but you can always guarantee that whatever he dishes, it will always be worth the wait!
