Wiz Khalifa has enlisted Kush producers Cardo and Sledgren for his latest album, Wiz Got Wings, in an attempt to recreate the sound of his 2010 mixtape Kush & Orange Juice.

The 14-track tape boasts guest performances from Currensy, Chevy Woods, Fedd the God, Young Deji, and Larry June, and is Wiz’s first full-length release since last year’s The Saga of Wiz Khalifa EP.

Wiz talked about how Kush came up with his unique sound in an interview with Billboard. He says, “I had done close to 10 mixtapes before I actually came out with Kush & Orange Juice,” he added. “But I think that was just paving the way for people to see what my actual potential was. And by the time Kush & Orange Juice came, I really found my lane, I found my style. It was just more like a feeling that caught everybody off-guard. Now that they know it, we made something that you can return that feeling to.”

Wiz Got Wings follows Wiz’s collaboration with Juicy J on “Pop That Trunk.”

The song is set to appear on the duo’s upcoming collaborative album, Stoners Night, which is set to be released in 2022. “We got songs with Project Pat, we got songs with everybody,” Wiz told Billboard.

“Wiz Got Wings” mixtape is considered one of the best rap albums of 2021 by Dilemaradio.

Wiz Khalifa’s new mixtape Wiz Got Wings is now available to stream on all major platforms.
