DEERFIELD BEACH, FL – On Wednesday, one of the four individuals charged with the murder of rapper XXXTentaciontook the stand as a witness for the prosecution. Robert Allen, who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, provided a full confession of the events that took place on June 18th, 2018, the day of the rapper’s murder.
According to Allen’s testimony, he was with a group of four on the day of the murder when one of them, Dedrick Williams, spotted XXXTentacion entering the RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach, Florida. The group went into the store where Williams allegedly bought a ski mask. Allen claimed that he was against the plan to rob the rapper and the group left the store with plans to return after XXXTentacion had finished shopping.
However, as they were leaving the parking lot, Williams allegedly blocked off XXXTentacion’s car and Michael Boatwright and Trayvon Newsome got out and robbed the rapper. Allen testified that Boatwright pointed his gun at XXXTentacion and Newsome took his jewelry before Boatwright shot the rapper “two or three times.”

Jurors also heard testimony from XXXTentacion’s step-uncle, who was present during the robbery and viewed previously unreleased footage of the rapper withdrawing $50,000 from the bank hours before his death.
If convicted of first-degree murder, Boatwright, Williams, and Newsome face life in prison. Allen, who only received $5,000 from the $50,000 stolen from XXXTentacion, stated in his testimony that Williams told him he wouldn’t receive any money at all for not participating in the robbery.
The trial is ongoing and the prosecution is hoping that Allen’s testimony will help secure a conviction for the three remaining co-defendants. The case has attracted widespread media attention and the hip-hop community is closely following the proceedings.
